Welcome to my new blog.
I feel like a novice, so many new things to learn.
I am so used to the set up on my old blog, all so familiar to me after eight years of blogging.
Not sure why or when I decided it was time for a change but it feels right.
This blog ushers in a new stage in my dollmaking and I like that.
A little about the picture up above, it's a crocheted mohair doll wig in progress.
When I first started dollmaking I wanted to make this kind of wig but couldn't find a mohair yarn that really gave the right effect and was a colour I liked.
Also, I could crochet a granny square but nothing else.
I attempted a knitted mohair wig with limited success.
I managed to become accomplished in lots of different wig styles but it really hasn't been until the past couple of years
I'm now at the stage where making a crocheted wig is a restful and meditative activity for me.
I know I can do it , I don't feel like a novice anymore.
And I feel that kind of assurance with all my doll making now.
There is always more to learn and there is always more to discover and experiment with but I feel quietly assured that I know my stuff and I know how I want my stuff to look.
I feel like I have mastered my craft.
Not entirely sure how I want this website to look though.
It will be a work in progress for some time I think but you know how I like to share all the stages of my creations with you, this blog is no different.
It's exciting, it really is to be starting afresh.
I love it.
