So this is Hannah. Hannah was a very popular name when I was having my first baby, I loved it but didn't want to use it because it was too popular. My baby turned out to be a boy so I needn't have worried.
Hannah is a Jammy Gem doll. I have only made a handful of this style of doll and as I want to concentrate on Mabel style dolls there will only ever be a handful of them. Unless I change my mind of course, which is always on the cards. So she is long limbed and elegant with feet just a little too big so that her shoes will always look so very cute.
I do try most of the time to make sure my dolls wear clothes that I think children would be happy to wear, that are comfortable and easy to move in. I don't like child shaped dolls in adult style clothes but that's my personal preference. So a free and easy smock style top, loose bloomers, comfy boots and a few woollies to keep the chills away seems like the perfect outfit for this girl. I have some knitting to do for her tonight and then I think she should be ready to look for her home tomorrow night ( in my etsy shop, Wednesday night,Tasmanian time) And of course I am so privileged to be able to use such lovely linens and Liberty fabrics and special yarns and soft yummy corduroy. Such a doll with her handspun locks is a feast for the senses.
Hannah comes from a special place of sunshine and heartfelt cuddles, from my inner world of optimism and love and wide eyed wonder at this world of ours.
But she doesn't know that she just knows she is happy.
