Almost ready

So difficult to believe that another year is coming to an end. Not sure how much I accomplished but my little family has managed to have all safely and happily arrived at the end of 2016 and that makes me happy.

We are hosting the extended family Christmas this year so I am having to be more organised than usual. Only a few days to go but I think I have the menu organised, I think we have decided where to put the table and I'm pretty sure we have enough plates and serviettes and glasses and chairs. It's forecast to be a hot day so my main concern is that we don't all fry sitting around the table in the garden.

We are a relatively small gathering this year and it will be the first Christmas that Louis hasn't been here which will be sad. We will see him in the new year though and the wonders of Skype mean we can catch up on the day as well.

I am feeling a little lost at the moment because I have finished work for the year but still want to be doing dolly stuff. There is no time of course, so much else to be done and I try to convince myself I need to do something different creatively so that I am fresh when I do start work again. I am really enjoying getting stuck in with the garden and I'm beginning to see some improvements for my efforts. This week though has been all about Christmas preparations and enjoying not having any dollmaking deadlines. Being Santa's helper can be a little stressful at times. Shipping off that last parcel was a relief.

I probably won't write again before Christmas so I wish you all the best of the season and thank you for continuing to visit. Next year will be a big change for us with no children at home and I'm hoping I will visit this little place more often. That's the plan anyway.
